Child & Adolescent Therapy

Just like adults, children and adolescents have rich and complex inner lives. Young children learn by doing, and by engaging in therapeutic and creative play, kids are able to express themselves freely, make new meaning and connections, and build confidence in sharing their emotions.

A session with me might start by drawing a feelings map, using colors and symbols to explore feelings in a playful and creative way, playing games that promote social emotional skills, or engaging in activities that encourage effective communication and empathy.

Adolescence is both a beautiful and complex life stage to navigate, and there are times when challenges arise. Whether it’s feeling misunderstood, developing a unique sense of self, or navigating the transition into adulthood, it can be helpful to have a safe place for a young person fully express themselves.

By starting therapy early, children and adolescents develop skills like problem-solving, emotional regulation, and resilience, setting them up for a happier and more confident future. It’s like giving them a superhero cape for life’s challenges!

Family Therapy

In family therapy sessions with me, we start by investigating how your family communicates and interacts—identifying patterns and dynamics that might feel stuck or challenging. Through open discussion and exploration of your family history, we uncover deeper insights into what shapes your relationships. We may engage in activities and games designed to foster connection, empathy, and mutual understanding. These activities not only strengthen bonds but also help us envision and practice new ways of relating to each other.

I have found that this collaborative approach can be effective at any point in a family’s development, whether navigating the transition of starting a new family or seeking to build communication across multiple generations.

Family therapy can be an incredible tool used to create a new way of being together that honors each person's unique strengths and perspectives. Together, we navigate challenges, celebrate successes, and cultivate deeper connections that promote harmony and growth within your family unit.

Adult Psychotherapy

In my psychotherapy practice I seek to create a compassionate space where individuals can examine their inner world, heal from past wounds, and cultivate personal growth. My goal is to support clients in developing a deeper understanding of themselves, enhancing self-acceptance and resilience.

Our therapy sessions are moments of grounding and reflection. We might begin by tuning into your current state and centering in the present moment. We will delve into your narrative, working as a team to uncover patterns, relationships, and insights that shape your present. Together, we prepare you for future challenges, strategizing and building confidence to tackle whatever comes next.

By utilizing therapeutic interventions that are tailored to one’s specific needs, clients feel heard, supported, and inspired to explore new perspectives and possibilities. Each session is a step towards a deeper understanding of the self, making the journey both meaningful and exciting.
